Perform Project Risk Assessment
This section describes how to perform a risk assessment for a project. The prerequisite for performing a risk assessment is that you have created a risk assessment checklist. For more information, see the section Create risk checklist for project.
To perform a risk assessment for a project, proceed as follows:
- Open the search box (ALT+Q) and enter Project List.
- Click on the corresponding search result.
- The Project List page is displayed.
- Select the project from the list (for which you want to do a risk assessment).
- To perform a risk assessment for the selected project, click Related > Planning > Risk Evaluation > General Risk Evaluation.

The display of the following option General Risk Evaluation depends on how smartProject is set up. If the option is not displayed, you must make an appropriate setting on the PMS Setup page. For more information, see the section Set display of menu items.Figure: General Project Risk Assessment - Enter the current date in the input field under the Date column. You can abbreviate the current date by entering t (for today). The system enters the current date.
- From the dropdown list in the Checklist Code column, select the checklist you want to use to perform the risk assessment.
- The software completes and updates the information in the Risk Value, Risk Sum and Lack of Answers columns.
- To enter the answers for the checklist, click Lines in the menu bar.
- The General Project Risk Assessment Lines window is displayed.
- Enter an answer for each question. To do this, click in the Answer Text lookup field in the corresponding question line.
- The Checklist Risk Factors Answers is displayed. Select the appropriate answer for the question from the options displayed.
- To confirm the selected answer, click OK.
- Select an answer for each question and then navigate back to the General Project Risk Assessment page. The software completes and updates the information in the Risk Value, Risk Sum, and Lack of Answers columns.
- To exit and register the risk assessment, click Register in the menu bar.
- A dialog box is displayed asking if you want to register the risk assessment. Click Yes.
- A message will appear confirming that you have successfully registered the risk assessment.
- The software completes and updates the information in the Registered, Registration Date and User ID columns.
You completed the risk assessment.
